WE GOT THE POWER...

MotoFish is a UK brand and a collaboration between one of Europe's leading electric golf trolley manafacturers and the former editor of Angling Times, John Kelly.

Based in Ramsgate, Kent, Golfstream's Derek Richford and Lee Stelfox have over 40 years' combined experience in producing award-winning battery-powered golf trolleys, batteries and spares and accessories in the leisure battery market.

Having noticed the enormous popularity of push trolleys in angling, in late 2024 John contacted Golfstream to join forces to produce a retro-fit power unit to help anglers convert their existing trolleys into powered ones - avoiding the need to splash out on an entirely new trolley.

Not only that, because of Golfstream's manufacturing expertise and contacts, MotoFish has been able to develop  a high-specification powered fishing trolley for match, pleasure and short-session specimen and carp anglers.

Said John Kelly: "Having seen how powered golf trolleys shaped the golf market once players had bought push trolleys, I believed fishing would follow a similar course. We began looking at a retro-fit converter kit in late 2024 because of the vast numbers of Preston Innovation, MAP and Matrix push barrows that have been sold.

During the Summer of 2025 we have been testing our unique MotoFish 'PowaCage' - a self-fit unit with tons of power, rear wheel drive, outstanding manouevrability, strength and ease-of-use and it will become available this autumn.

"While we developing and testing the PowaCage Matrix bought out their motorised fishing trolley and this accelerated our overall plans for MotoFish. As a result, 2025 will also see the launch of our high quality powered fishing trolleys.

"These will be driven by the MotoFish Powacage and also feature top grade components like a long-life, rechargeable Lithium battery and charger; clutches for outstanding rear wheel drive and steering; a powerful motor which has stood the test of time in the golf market and delivered thousands of miles of power; stainles steel axle; puncture-proof all-terrain wheels featuring a quik-release mechanism.

"Crucially, because they are designed, developed, made and stored in England, we will always be able to guarantee supply - unlike companies who rely soley on Chinese imports. And that goes for spares too."
